So my question is who ever said the poor and destitute from the first world do not eat well let alone healthy? This dish probably cost less then $1.50 feeding two ravenous adults with plenty of leftovers for several more bowls.
2-package of ramen noodles.
2TBS of soy sauce.
2 bullion cubes.
3 teaspoons of dehydrated onion flakes.
1 TBS of either Worcestershire sauce or preferably oyster sauce.
3 packets of Taco Bell hot sauce or if you have the money use some Sriracha to taste.
6 cups water divided into two pots. ( one pot for boiling the noodles the other for broth)
Optional:
leftover cooked ground beef and vegetable mixture.
Halved hard boiled egg.
Diced green onions for garnishing.
Dried shitake mushrooms.
#1. divide the water like moses into two separate pots. Once the water boils you can drop your preference of bullion into your broth pot. you may need a few minutes for it to dissolve. If your planning on using dried mushrooms your going to want to add them to the broth in order for them to reconstitute and add additional flavor to the broth.
#2. Let the broth simmer for at least 20-30 minutes for all the flavors to meld together.
#3. After the broth has had some time to meld for half an hour drop your packages of noodles into the water. Your going to need to pay attention and watch the noodles so they do not over cook and become a mess.
#4. when there done per your personal preference carefully strain them and run them under some cold water from the tap and then set aside or you can start plating your bowls.
#5 if you have left over ground beef and vegtable mixture you can add it to the bowl along with halved hard boiled egg.
#6. slowly and carefully ladle the broth right before serving.
#7. if you have green onion go ahead and garnish the bowl with sliced Green onion and if you like a extra kick add a squirt or two of hot sauce.
Wala you now have a bowl of poor mans noodles.
